Local SEO.

Get into the map pack, where the calls actually come from.

Local SEO is the work of being one of the three businesses Google puts on the map when somebody nearby types your service. It is the highest-intent traffic on the internet and it costs nothing per click.

The map pack is decided by three things Google will admit to: relevance, distance, and prominence. Distance you cannot change. Relevance and prominence you absolutely can. Relevance is your Google Business Profile being filled out completely and honestly, with the right primary category, every service listed, real photos, and posts that show the business is alive. Prominence is everything else on the web agreeing that you exist and are respected: consistent name, address and phone across directories, links from local organisations, and a steady flow of genuine reviews.

Where owners go wrong is treating the profile as a set-and-forget listing. They claim it, upload a logo, and never touch it again. Meanwhile the competitor two miles away posts weekly, answers questions, has 180 reviews to your 12, and has a proper page on their site for every suburb they serve. Google reads all of that as a business that is more established. It is not a clever trick. It is just doing the obvious thing consistently for longer than the other guy.

We build the profile out properly, create the location and service pages that back it up, clean up the citation mess left by years of inconsistent listings, and install a review-request system that runs itself. Then we watch the map-pack position for your real target searches from the postcodes that matter, not from wherever the reporting tool happens to sit.

Industry benchmarks, not our client data

The gap search engine optimization has to close

  • 29% Of local clicks are left for everyone below the map pack to share between them
  • 44% Go to just the three businesses inside it

That is the whole argument, and it is a distribution rather than a promise. Under the map pack, roughly a third of the clicks are split across every organic result on the page. Inside it, nearly half are split three ways. On a phone the pack also takes most of the screen before anything else is visible.

The intent is the highest on the internet: about three quarters of people who run a near-me search contact or visit a business within 24 hours. But be clear about what we can move. Google weighs relevance, prominence and distance, and distance from the searcher is not something anybody can optimise. Getting into the pack takes three to six months in a normal market and longer in a crowded city, and in some postcodes it will not happen at all.

This is for you if

  • Competitors sit in the map pack and you are nowhere near it
  • You have 12 reviews and the shop down the road has 200
  • You serve six towns and have one page that lists all of them in a sentence
  • Your phone number is different on three different directory listings
  • You are paying for ads to appear in searches you should own for free

What it costs

No proposal theatre. These are the real numbers, and the full list for every service is on the pricing page.

  • $1,400£1,100/mo Local SEO Google Business Profile management, weekly posts, location and service pages, citation cleanup, review system, local link building, and monthly reporting. Starting price for SEO on its own.
  • $850£650 one-time Advanced Tracking & Data Infrastructure GTM container, GA4 configuration, call tracking, and organic conversion tracking, so organic leads are counted as leads rather than sessions.

Need a number for your situation?

The prices above cover the standard engagement. If yours is bigger, messier, or does not look like any of that, tell us where you are and what you are trying to fix and we will come back with a straight price and a timeline. No lock-in, no "discovery phases", no surprises.

What this looks like when it works

  • You show up in the three-pack for the searches that end in a call
  • Your review count and rating stop being the reason people pick someone else
  • You rank in the towns you serve, not just the one you are registered in
  • Direction requests and profile calls become a number you can actually track
  • Your listings say the same thing everywhere, so Google stops hedging on you

How we approach local seo

The handful of principles that decide what we do and what we skip.

  • The profile is the product

For a local business the Google Business Profile outranks the website for the searches that matter most. We treat it that way.

  • Real pages for real areas

One honest page per town beats forty spun ones. Google got good at spotting the difference years ago.

  • Reviews on a system, not a panic

A steady trickle from a process beats twenty in a week when you remember to ask.

  • Measure from the postcode, not the office

Rank tracking from a single point tells you nothing about a service area. We track a grid.

Questions owners ask before they commit

What is the map pack and why does it matter so much?

It is the block of three businesses with the map above the normal results. For 'near me' and service searches on a phone it takes up most of the screen, so those three get the overwhelming majority of the calls. Everything below it is fighting for scraps.

We are not in the city centre. Can we still rank there?

Usually yes, but it is harder the further you are from where people search. We widen your reach with real location pages, service-area settings, and local signals rather than pretending you have an office you do not.

Do reviews really change rankings?

They change rankings and they change whether someone calls you after they see you. We build a system that asks every happy customer at the right moment, so the flow is steady instead of a panic every six months.

How we compare to the alternatives

The honest sales argument. We will not pretend the other options do not exist.
