Technical SEO.
Fix the plumbing before you pay for the traffic.
Technical SEO is the unglamorous half nobody sells you, because it does not produce a nice screenshot. It is also the reason a lot of good content sits on page four.
We start with a full crawl and read what Google actually sees. That usually turns up a familiar list: three versions of the homepage all live at once, a few hundred tag archive pages diluting the site, redirect chains four hops deep left over from an old migration, images shipped at 4000 pixels wide to a phone, and no structured data anywhere. None of it is exotic. All of it costs you positions.
Then speed, which for a service business is mostly a mobile problem. Your customer is standing in a wet kitchen on 4G. If the page takes six seconds they are already back in the results tapping the next listing. We get the mobile numbers into the green by doing the dull things: right-sized images, fewer scripts, fonts that do not block rendering, and a hosting setup that is not fighting you.
Finally schema, which is the part that matters more every year. Structured data is how you tell Google, and now the AI answer engines, exactly what kind of business you are, what services you sell, where you operate, and what your reviews say. Without it, machines have to infer all of that from your paragraphs. With it, you become a clean entity they can quote with confidence.

Industry benchmarks, not our client data
The gap search engine optimization has to close
- 29% Of local clicks are left for everyone below the map pack to share between them
- 44% Go to just the three businesses inside it
That is the whole argument, and it is a distribution rather than a promise. Under the map pack, roughly a third of the clicks are split across every organic result on the page. Inside it, nearly half are split three ways. On a phone the pack also takes most of the screen before anything else is visible.
The intent is the highest on the internet: about three quarters of people who run a near-me search contact or visit a business within 24 hours. But be clear about what we can move. Google weighs relevance, prominence and distance, and distance from the searcher is not something anybody can optimise. Getting into the pack takes three to six months in a normal market and longer in a crowded city, and in some postcodes it will not happen at all.

This is for you if
- You migrated or redesigned and traffic never came back
- Google is indexing pages you did not know existed
- Your mobile PageSpeed score is red and you have been ignoring it
- You publish good content and it never ranks
- You want AI search engines to read your business correctly
What it costs
No proposal theatre. These are the real numbers, and the full list for every service is on the pricing page.
- $190£150/hr Advanced Technical SEO Audit, implementation, schema, speed work and migration repair. Most engagements run 10 to 30 hours upfront, then a quarterly check.
- $850£650 one-time Advanced Tracking & Data Infrastructure GTM container, GA4 configuration, conversion and call tracking, so the fixes can be measured against leads.
Need a number for your situation?
The prices above cover the standard engagement. If yours is bigger, messier, or does not look like any of that, tell us where you are and what you are trying to fix and we will come back with a straight price and a timeline. No lock-in, no "discovery phases", no surprises.
What this looks like when it works
- Google indexes the pages you care about and ignores the ones you do not
- Mobile load time stops quietly costing you a share of every visit
- Old migrations stop leaking the authority you already paid for
- Rich results start appearing because the markup finally exists
- Content and link work actually produce movement, because nothing is blocking it
How we approach technical seo
The handful of principles that decide what we do and what we skip.
-
Read what the crawler reads
Opinions about the site matter less than what Googlebot logged last week.
-
Prioritise by cost, not by count
A hundred trivial warnings matter less than one canonical mistake on your money page.
-
Mobile is the real test
Desktop scores flatter everyone. We tune for a phone on a bad connection.
-
Fix once, then monitor
This is not a subscription. We fix it properly and check it quarterly.
Questions owners ask before they commit
My site looks fine. What could be technically wrong?
Plenty that a visitor never sees. Pages Google cannot crawl, duplicate versions competing with each other, a mobile load time that quietly halves conversions, and missing schema so Google has to guess what you do.
Is this a one-off job or ongoing?
Mostly one-off, with a check every quarter. The big wins are in the first fix. After that it is maintenance, especially if you publish often or run a CMS that likes to create pages on its own.
Will I actually see a ranking change from this?
Sometimes dramatically, if something was genuinely broken. More often it is the thing that lets the rest of the work pay off. Content and links do not rank pages Google is struggling to read.
How we compare to the alternatives
The honest sales argument. We will not pretend the other options do not exist.
Doing it yourself
- You and your team learning every platform from scratch
- The work eats nights and weekends
- Hard to tell what is actually working until you have burned the budget
- One channel at a time because you cannot run them all yourself
- Pricey mistakes you eat alone
