E-Commerce SEO.
Rank the pages that sell. Stop chasing keywords that don't.
E-commerce SEO is not blog posts about your industry. It is collection pages that rank for buyer intent, product pages with the right schema, and a site architecture Google can actually crawl. We fix the boring stuff that compounds, not the trendy stuff that doesn't.
Most e-commerce SEO advice tells you to start a blog. For most product brands that is the slowest path to revenue on the menu. The pages that actually print money are your category pages and your bestsellers. Google does not need 80 articles about how to tie a tie. It needs your 'mens silk ties' collection page to load in 1.5 seconds, have a real H1, 200 words of buyer-useful copy, ProductCollection schema, and internal links from the homepage. That is the work, and almost nobody does it.
The lie agencies sell is 'content velocity'. Twenty blog posts a month, none of them written by someone who has sold the product, all of them ranking for keywords that bring you traffic that never adds to cart. We ignore that game. We audit your existing collections and product URLs, find the ones already on page two for terms that buyers actually search, and push them to page one with on-page fixes and 4 or 5 real internal links. That is usually where the first 6 months of revenue come from.
The deeper work is technical. Faceted navigation that creates 40,000 thin pages Google indexes by accident. Product variants competing with themselves for the same keyword. A sitemap that lists URLs that 301 to other URLs. Pagination that breaks the crawl budget. Schema markup that is wrong because the theme injected it incorrectly. None of this is glamorous. All of it is what separates a store that ranks from one that does not.

Industry benchmarks, not our client data
The gap e-commerce has to close
- 80% Cart abandonment on mobile, against about 70% overall
- 48% Of abandons happen over shipping, tax or fees appearing late. That share is addressable
Eight in ten filled mobile baskets are abandoned. That is not weak demand. Those people picked the product, put it in the basket, and then met something at the checkout that changed their mind.
Nearly half the time it is the same something: the total goes up at the last step because shipping, tax or a fee appears that the product page never mentioned. The rest is forced account creation and too many steps. We quote the addressable share rather than a conversion lift on purpose. Baymard's own figure for what better checkout design can produce is around 35 percent, and we would treat that as a ceiling for a large store with a genuinely broken checkout, not as a forecast for yours.

This is for you if
- Product pages are not ranking and you do not know why
- Your category pages get traffic but no transactions
- Schema, canonical tags, and faceted navigation have never been audited
- You are spending on Google Shopping while organic does nothing
What it costs
No proposal theatre. These are the real numbers, and the full list for every service is on the pricing page.
- $190£150/hr Advanced Technical SEO Audit, implementation, schema, site architecture, and feed work. Most engagements run 10 to 30 hours upfront, then a small monthly retainer.
- $140£110/hr Standard Consulting Strategy, keyword work, content planning, internal linking reviews. Used when the technical foundation is already clean.
Need a number for your situation?
The prices above cover the standard engagement. If yours is bigger, messier, or does not look like any of that, tell us where you are and what you are trying to fix and we will come back with a straight price and a timeline. No lock-in, no "discovery phases", no surprises.
What this looks like when it works
- Your top 20 collection pages rank in the top 5 for the search terms that actually convert to sales
- Organic revenue grows 30 to 80 percent year on year because the pages that already exist start ranking
- Google Shopping ROAS climbs because the feed is clean and the landing pages match the query
- Index bloat drops from 50,000 useless URLs to the few thousand that actually deserve to rank
- You stop paying for ads on branded and long-tail searches you should already be winning organically
How we approach e-commerce seo
The handful of principles that decide what we do and what we skip.
-
Collections before blog posts
Your category pages are the asset. We fix them before we write a single article.
-
Buyer intent over keyword volume
10,000 searches for 'how to choose' is worth less than 200 searches for 'buy X size Y'. We chase the second.
-
Technical first, content second
If Google cannot crawl the store properly, no amount of content fixes it. We clean the plumbing first.
-
Measure in revenue, not traffic
Sessions are vanity. We report on assisted and last-click organic revenue per page.
Questions owners ask before they commit
Isn't e-commerce SEO just stuffing keywords everywhere?
That is how you rank for terms that never buy. We go after the pages and searches that actually end in a purchase, category and product pages with buying intent, not vanity traffic that bounces.
I have thousands of products. Where do you start?
With the handful of pages that can actually move revenue. Most stores have a few categories that could rank and print money. We fix those first instead of boiling the whole catalogue.
How is this different from paid ads?
Ads stop the day you stop paying. SEO is traffic you own. It is slower to build, but the pages that rank keep selling long after the work is done.
How we compare to the alternatives
The honest sales argument. We will not pretend the other options do not exist.
